Garrett is a Northern Virginia native who has had a passion for coaching youth athletics since his own teenage years. Garrett played 10 seasons of Chantilly Youth Association (CYA) basketball before graduating high school and played 2 seasons of high school football. In his final 3 years of high school, Garrett volunteered as a youth basketball coach with CYA where he followed a grade of students for 6 seasons from the 5th to the 7th grade, during which time his teams won 3 championships. After graduating from FCPS, Garrett attended Arizona State University. At ASU, he continued to play rec league basketball while also working as a referee for the school’s intramural sports programs. He officiated flag football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. In 2019 Garrett had the opportunity to work and study in Beijing, where he interned with BeiMei Lacrosse, whose purpose was to provide afterschool care for Chinese school children as well as train promising athletes with aspirations of attending American schools and universities. Having now graduated from ASU and returned to Northern VA, Garrett is excited to get back into the world of coaching and youth athletics with Kids in Motion.
